Over 25,000 companies run their product work inside Linear, including OpenAI, Coinbase, and Ramp (source). A Linear workspace holds years of issues, project decisions, cycle history, and internal documents. An accidental admin action, a bad integration, or a deleted workspace can wipe the record of how a product got built. Linear's own exports cover a fraction of workspace data, and there's no native point-in-time restore. Until now, Linear customers had no practical way to put a workspace back together after data loss.
Backup and restore for Linear workspaces
Cloudback now backs up Linear workspaces end-to-end. Each backup captures 23 data categories: issues and comments, projects and project updates, cycles, documents, initiatives, templates, custom views, workflow states, labels, attachments, issue relations, project milestones, teams, users, and embedded files from uploads.linear.app.
Backups run on the same schedule you already use for other platforms: daily automated, on-demand when you need it, and configurable retention of 30, 90, 180, or 360 days. Archives are AES-256 encrypted with unique per-archive passwords; teams that need customer-managed encryption can enable RSA Lockbox, which wraps each password with your own RSA public key so Cloudback never holds the private half. Store archives in Cloudback Managed Storage or bring your own storage across providers such as S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage, and Wasabi. Restore rebuilds the workspace into a new Linear workspace in dependency order, so references between issues, projects, and initiatives stay intact.

Connect your Linear workspace
Sign in to Cloudback with your Linear account, or create a Cloudback account and connect Linear.
Open the Subscriptions section, pick a plan, and assign it to the target workspace from the Account Assignments dropdown. Linear billing works on units: 2 units per project.
Add the workspace in the dashboard. A popup runs two OAuth authorization steps; approve each one. You need admin or owner rights in Linear.
Cloudback reads workspace metadata, confirms permissions, and runs the first backup.
Configure retention, add customer-managed storage if needed, and set Slack, Teams, Discord, or email notifications.
