Cloudback now offers user roles, a feature that gives teams precise control over who can view and manage backup settings, storages, and schedules across their organization. This update strengthens collaboration and security by allowing account owners to assign different access levels based on each team member’s responsibilities.
As teams grow, more people become involved in managing repositories, monitoring backups, or configuring storage. User roles help ensure that every person gets the right level of access — no more, no less.
What user roles are
The User Roles page lets administrators manage permissions for team members across Cloudback accounts.
Global Admin — Full access to all Cloudback settings, including managing users and their roles, backup configurations, storage settings, and schedules.
Admin — Can manage backups, schedules, and storage configurations but cannot change user roles.
No Access — The user remains part of the system but cannot view or interact with any account settings.
The User Roles page includes filters for users, accounts, and roles, making it easy to find and update permissions. Different people on a team may need different levels of access. User roles help organizations:

How to get started
Open the User Roles page in your Cloudback dashboard.
Review the list of users and their current roles.
Use filters to find specific users or accounts if needed.
Update a role using the dropdown next to each user.
